On Mitigating Suffering Over the Holidays, or #ThanksLiving2015

This year’s Thanksgiving is the first that my spouse and I will not be spending with any family at all. Since we’re stuck in Denver, around 15 hours from home, we thought it would be a good idea to get together with some vegan friends to celebrate abundance, providence, and non-violence. After serving the Eucharist, we all shared what we were thankful for this year, and dug in to a massive plant-based meal. Community is, has always been, and will always be the most important thing to us. This year, I encourage you to join us in saying no to suffering, ditching the turkey and opting for objectively better (healthier, more environmentally friendly, more ethical) choice for your Thanksgiving meal.

Here’s what was on the menu (click for recipes to make for your own ThanksLiving):

Holiday Roasted Seitan
Leek Sourdough Stuffing
Green Bean Casserole
Rosemary Mashed Potatoes
Golden Nutritional Yeast Gravy
• Roasted sweet potatoes (Recipe coming soon)
• Pumpkin Pie Spiced Muffins (Recipe coming soon)
80% biga white bread for Eucharist and the table
